I have found this course to be very good especially around the meditation. I have progression in the disease with pain increasing daily whilst I await surgery. The meditation was and is brilliant as it helps you to relax and therefore reduce the pain levels. This has been the best course to help manage the pain. I have sent this to my home computer to enable me to have access anywhere I go. The course makes you think differently about the pain and it can be managed using various methods. I now go swimming and looking into yoga to help with relaxation. Just brilliant course loved it.

Since I started to experience a lot of pain over the last few years, I have become increasingly despondent about the path my life was taking. Through completing the course, I now have a sense of agency and can see that things that I chose to do (such as relaxation and mindfulness) can positively impact on my levels of pain and quality of life.

I have listened and watched this course and I have found some parts of benefit to me, especially the meditation piece. The physical exercises are mainly the same as my physiotherapist has given me in the past which I did before the course. The course is very helpful and it is helpful to know that I am not the only one with pain and mental health issues. Thank you.

I have found a lot of benefit in doing this course. Mentally I already feel better and thinking about my pain in a different way. I also enjoy the meditations. They are different ones I've tried before and I think these work a lot better. I have still a lot to work on the distraction techniques when I'm walking but I think I can see an improvement and managed to walk further than I have in ages. Thank you to all the hard-working staff who have put this together.

Thank you for helping A lot of the pain relief concentrated on back pain- so wasn't relevant. A lot of my problems are now due to the pain medication I take that stops the pain but creates problems of their own, so questions regarding the pain are irrelevant.

What I appreciate is that there is something out there to address those who suffer from pain. As pain is invisible, this course gives this issue a voice and acknowledgment. For me personally, it has not taught me anything new but I enjoyed the meditation videos. I haven’t found any of the techniques helpful, but I did try them. I certainly have taken a better approach to the way I think & have been kinder to myself - this was especially after several recent diagnosis’s which gave my pain a reason. Before that, I labelled myself useless and was frustrated all the time, now I understand why I hurt so much.

There are parts of the course that I enjoyed and found useful to include to my life, most part I already was doing, as you know people in pain will try anything to help reduce the pain. The meditation part of the course was helpful, but I found the course very condescending, making you feel like you don’t know anything and have not looked in to everything to help yourself, I enjoyed going though the course, but knew all the information given already. Try the course and work the steps and take your time doing it, it helps if you are not already doing the steps. The course promotes self confidence and this is hard when you have anxiety problems and self body issues, but keep going, enjoy the fact you can do it. But I have to say that you know yourself and what works for you and what doesn’t, everyone is different and everyone has there own ways off coping. What works for you might not work for someone else, remember you know best. Trust your own thought and feeling and get the help you need.

I did a pain management course years ago, which helped me. This course covered the same things for me. The stretches do help, as does the pacing, you need to get to know your body and what you're capable of and then just push it a bit more and a bit more, but not so much that it causes you pain. Eventually, you will be able to do a little bit more, depending on your individual circumstances. Best wishes to you all. Vicky

I am finding this course beneficial and plan to re visit the course via the library often. I am thankful that i have been lucky enough to have had this opportunity to learn coping strategies and so very much more. I have worked through the course at my own pace, which has been beneficial. I would highly recommend to anyone suffering with Chronic Pain. One thing to bare in mind is this is a personal journey for you, like most things in life you get out of the course what you put in.

I was unsure that the course would offer me anything new, but was pleasantly surprised. Having fibromyalgia, I know the pain does not come from being damaged, but because of this I never took breaks or slowed down when I needed to, consequently making myself feel worse. I believed I could work through it. Now I take breaks and find I can do more. The stretching and meditation were the most helpful to me.
